CARE Univers

Something for you, not for the person you care for

Three small things that have to prove nothing to anyone. Everything stays on your device and is stored or sent nowhere.

The little garden

For every finished thing, something grows. That is all that happens — and it is enough.

0 Grown

Begin with one thing, if you like.

  • Breath

    Three conscious breaths

Sit down. Breathe in and out consciously three times. Nothing more.

  • Care

    Water for the plant

Water a plant and watch for a moment as it takes the water in.

  • Boundary

    One clear boundary today

Choose one thing you will not do today. Write the sentence down and set it aside.

  • Thanks

    A note of thanks

Write one short sentence to a person who has eased your load. Sending it is optional.

  • Outside

Ten minutes out of the door

No destination, no phone in hand. Ten minutes are enough.

  • Order

    Write down one question

What you want to ask at the next appointment. One sentence is enough to keep it from getting lost.

  • Warmth

    Five minutes of warmth

Choose something warm: a cup in both hands, sun on your face, a song that is yours. Five minutes, for no one else.

A three-minute pause

Small games with no score that anyone sees. For setting things down, not for winning.

  • Eight cards, four pairs. Nothing that can go wrong.

  • Three rounds in and out, guided by the circle. Longer out than in.

  • Three rounds, bringing a slider to rest.

The first steps

What comes up in the first weeks, in the order it usually comes. You can go back at any time.

  1. Arriving

Getting an overview without deciding straight away. What is the need today, and what in three months?

  2. Clarifying entitlements

The helplessness allowance (Hilflosenentschädigung), supplementary benefits (Ergänzungsleistungen), municipal contributions. Much is not paid out automatically — it has to be applied for.

  3. Who does what

Doctor, Spitex (the Swiss home-care service), relatives, neighbours. Write down who takes on which task — and what no one has taken on.

  4. Planning in respite

Not only once nothing works any more. A fixed time in the week that belongs to you belongs in the plan like any appointment.

  5. Setting up a folder

One place for all papers: directives, statements, contacts. Whoever has to search loses time in the wrong place.

Mountains and cosmos

The direction Up, in pictures. If you would rather look than read, this is the place.

A turquoise mountain lake between forested peaks
A still mountain lake between forested valleys in the morning
A field track along a fence, mountains and clouds beyond
Flowers on the shore of a mountain lake, the peaks in morning light beyond
A forest stream, the sun breaking through the leaves as a star
